What we promise, and what we don't
Short, because the service is short.
Send us a photo of your own house
Your house, or one you have permission to photograph and send. Don't send us somebody else's home, a photo you found online, or a real-estate listing picture — those belong to whoever took them, and we'd be generating from something neither of us has the right to use.
What you get back
Generated pictures of your house with decorations on it, and shopping lists with quantities. It normally takes about 24 hours. We're a small operation, so in December it may take longer, and we'll tell you if it does.
The pictures are illustrations
They're generated, not photographed. They show what a look is like on your house. They are not a photograph of the specific products, and the number of individual objects in a picture may not exactly match the number in the list. Where the picture and the list disagree, the list is the one to follow.
The measurements are estimates
We work them out from a photograph, not a survey. They're close, and we show you what we assumed so you can check it. Measure before you buy. We can't refund a string of lights you bought because our estimate was a foot short.
Electricity
We do the arithmetic — how much your plan draws, how it compares to a typical 15-amp household circuit, and what each manufacturer says about connecting their strings end to end. That arithmetic is only as good as what the manufacturer publishes, and some of them publish nothing.
It is guidance, not an electrical inspection. We don't know what else is on your circuits, what condition your wiring is in, or what your local code requires. Read the tag on the box, don't exceed it, and if anything about your outdoor power is uncertain, ask an electrician.
Ladders
We tell you roughly how long a plan takes and which runs are high enough to need an extension ladder, because that's worth knowing before the boxes arrive. Whether to go up one is entirely your call and your risk. If a run makes you uneasy, hire it out.
It's free right now
No payment, no subscription, nothing to cancel. Which also means no guarantee: we may be slow, we may get something wrong, and we may stop. If we get something wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
